Suppose that in a hypothesis test, the results are determined to be significant at the alpha level α=0.08, but not significant at level α = 0.04. Which of the following is true about the p-value associated with this test?

(a) p > 0.08 (b) p < 0.04      (c) 0.04 < p < 0.08      (d) Can’t tell. It depends on the level of confidence

Answer #1

Answer)

We reject the null hypothesis when P-Value is less than alpha and in this case results are significant

And vice versa

So, p-value is greater than 0.04 but less than 0.08

As results are significant when alpha is 0.08 and not significant when alpha is 0.04

So, (c) 0.04 < p < 0.08

Is the right answer
