To ensure that the test results are meaningful, the test must be highly reliable that is there must be internal consistency between all the items on the test. It should be valid i.e., the items must all be measuring happiness. The scoring should be objective. To ensure this suitable norms such as age or gender can be established. Norms will also ensure that all the scorings are standardized, as a uniform procedure will be followed.
