Suppose you have three liquids (A,B.C). Liquid A is a D-NAPL, liquid B has a specific gravity of 0.85, and liquid C has a specific gravity of 0.95. if these three liquids were placed in a test tube, which liquid would be on the bottom, middle, and top

Answer #1

Due to gravity the the liquid which has highest density will be at the bottom, next highest density at second layer from bottom and top layer will be lightest. Liquid A is D-NAPL which will have density greater than water that is specific gravity above 1.0. So it has highest density among given liquids and will form bottom layer. Liquid C will form middle layer and liquid B will form topmost layer.

Thus answer is :

Bottom-liquid A,

middle-liquid C and,

top-liquid B.

Comment if any doubt.
