Answer #1

The best type of marketing research is qualitative research.

A good market researcher most likely will use both the methods will choose between them depending on the type of data that is needed. However, if I have to choose I will choose qualitative research. This is because qualitative research provides us with various advantages that I tend to prefer. Advantages such as flexibility in question, insightful discussions, exploration, etc. On the other hand it comes with some disadvantage where it is possible that we may go off track midway into the research. However, if the researcher can control it well, then the introduction of biases can be very less. Comparatively, the type of exploration that can be done is tremendous and it gives opportunity from wide angle. Thus I find qualitative market research is a better option if time and budget permits.
