Answer #1

Agents must make sure that they do work which is directed by the principle only after getting their consent. The agent must never do anything beyond the work given to them as mentioned in their contract. As long as the agent does only the work which is authorized by their principal , they are not liable for any wrongful acts . They need to sign an agreement with the principal in which they need to ensure that all the terms and conditions are mentioned. Any tort done by the agent with the consent of the principal does not hold him liable and any tort done by the agent without consulting the principal makes them liable for the consequences. In some situations they might even have to repay the principal any losses that incurred due to them . Hence having an agreement and following the rules properly would help agents in protecting themselves from liability for the acts of the the principal .
