Eight Managerial Considerations
1. Individual learning and incentives
2. Learning on new jobs vs old jobs
3. Improvement comes from working smarter, not harder
4. Built-in production bias through suggesting any learning rate
5. Preproduction versus postproduction adjustments
6. Changes in indirect labor and supervision
7. Changes in purchasing practices, methods, and organization structure
8. Contract phase-out
Individual learning and incentives - I as a manager of a firm will consider the first thing in learning curve as Individual learning and incentives. Individual learning is a costly procedure but have greater outcomes i a long run. The individual will be trained as per its requirement and the focus of trainer in this case will be solely on the particular individual. This will improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the learning procedure and with the introduction of incentive the learner can perform best of his/her capabilities. These learning will help the manager in meeting the company expectations and targets.
Improvement comes from
working smarter, not harder - Smart work is many time more
efficient and effective than hard work. The workers of the firm
should be trained for smarter work rather than hard work so that
the resources will be fully utilized and performance of the
individual will be significantly increased. Smart work will be
beneficial for every stakeholder related with the firm and
improvements could be geared up through proper guidance of senior
managers and supervisors. The firm will get benefited with smart
work approach in the business environment in order to achieving the
goals and objectives.
As a capacity manager i will first look out for the manpower which
i have with all the necessary resources required for achieving the
targets. With this i can estimate the maximum possible time
required for completing the assignment and based on this i will
look out for any capacity improvements or change required.
