Terrorist organizations thrive on exploitation and will do or go through, by any means necessary to get a point across and/or complete a mission. That said, I do not necessarily believe that terrorist is hooking up with cartel factions asking to be smuggled in the U.S. so they can commit acts of terror. However, I would not be so quick to say that they are not either. Throughout the decade’s terrorist organizations have been known to evolve and/or adapt to their surroundings. There are several approaches to this source of operating or mingling with the cartels that these terrorist organizations could take or use to their advantage. One advantage being, the gathering of information. This information is nothing short of border security procedures, soft target areas, infrastructure vulnerabilities, etc. the smuggling ability of the Cartels would arouse the attention of a terrorist organization. If people, money and drugs can be illegally transported undetected, so could biological weapons, explosives and any other type of weapon used by terrorists. The Cartels also have some of the same advanced technology as most military or law enforcement organizations. With this, terrorist can gain access to a plethora of information that they may not have been able to get previously. In addition to being smuggled in the Unitec States, a terrorist could potentially use a suicide bomber when crossing over. However, there is a strong possibility that they would active the explosives even with the very individuals that smuggled them in depending on the situation. After all their loyalty lies only with their faction, let us keep in mind that most people there are being smuggled with are not Muslim. I suppose the moral issue concerns the fact of the length their terror organizations will go through, to cause mayhem and hurt others in our country just to get a message across.
