A research study examined the blood vitamin D levels of the entire US population of landscape gardeners. The population average level of vitamin D in US landscapers was found to be 54.8 ng/mL with a standard deviation of 5.268 ng/mL. Assuming the true distribution of blood vitamin D levels follows a normal distribution, what is the lower value of the region for which approximately 99.9% of the data are located within the distribution? Recall the 68-95-99.9% observation discussed in the “Normal Distribution” section of the textbook that is helpful in answering the question

Answer #1

99.9% of data falls with in 3 standard devaitions of mean.

=(54.8±3*5.268)

=(38.996,70.604)

lower limit=38.996

Recall in our discussion of the normal distribution the research study that examined the blood vitamin D levels of the entire US population of landscape gardeners. The intent of this large-scale and comprehensive study was to characterize fully this population of landscapers as normally distributed with a corresponding population mean and standard deviation, which were determined from the data collection of the entire population. Suppose you are now in a different reality in which this study never took place though...

explaim the mechanisms amd toxological effects if type 1 diabetes in this article Exposure to arsenic in drinking water is associated with increased prevalence of diabetes. We previously reported an association of diabetes and urinary concentration of dimethylarsinite (DMAS"), a toxic product of arsenic methylation by arsenic (+ 3 oxidation state) methyltransferase (AS3MT). Here we examine associations between AS3MT polymorphism, arsenic metabolism and diabetes. Fasting blood glucose, oral glucose tolerance and self-reported diagnoses were used to identify diabetic individuals. Inorganic...

    10. Write a one-page summary of the attached paper? INTRODUCTION Many problems can develop in activated sludge operation that adversely affect effluent quality with origins in the engineering, hydraulic and microbiological components of the process. The real "heart" of the activated sludge system is the development and maintenance of a mixed microbial culture (activated sludge) that treats wastewater and which can be managed. One definition of a wastewater treatment plant operator is a "bug farmer", one who controls the aeration...
