1. Resolution of the telescope

Resolution is the ability to see or differentiate between two closely located structures. For example at night we see stars in the sky . The stars which are very far and located close to each other seems to be one single star rather than two. But when we see them through telescope we are able to resolve them and see that they are actually two separate stars.

In simple words resolution of telescope is the smallest angular separation between two closely placed objects (stars, planets etc.) that can be  differentiated by a telescope.

2. One advantage of the Hubble Space telescope over ground based ones is that our atmosphere is a blanket of gasses which acts as a protection from outer harmful radiations. But since it blocks UV and ultraviolet light rays coming from different celestial bodies therefore they can not be measured through ground based telescopes. While since it is located in space and is unaffected by earths atmosphere Hubble Space Telescope can measure these rays along with many other rays.
