The Scenario is:

The CEO of a multinational subsidiary with 250 staff based in Sydney was convinced that a good way to communicate with staff and generate feedback and ideas was through Workplace by Facebook, a Facebook designed especially for use in specific workplaces. Workplace by Facebook was introduced and after three months, the CEO undertook a quick evaluation of communication trends on the Platform. Most messages were from various levels of management while the feedback was predominately via likes and dislikes. Not only did the likes far outweighed the dislikes, but the majority of feedback was from managers rather than non-managerial employees. The CEO has asked your advice on whether the company should persist with Workplace for Facebook or try something else to improve communication.

This scenario is based on a multinational subsidiary with 250 staff members wanting to establish a communication channel that can be used for sharing ideas, feedback and providing better connections between all the staff members. The communication channel that was implemented Workplace by Facebook. The issue here is that when the CEO evaluated the communication platform then the majority of likes came in but the feedbacks were majorly by managers rather than by non-managerial workforce hence this feedback cannot provide a clear picture. Now the CEO is in a dilemma if he should persist with the present software or come up with a new idea. One thing is clear that the non - managerial workforce is not using this new software hence there is certainly a need for an alternative. Now there are many alternatives available in the market which are technically more sound, more reliable and much easier to use. In fact, there are options that can be completely customized for the organization. A few relevant options are as below -

As per my recommendation, I would suggest that we drop the old tool as it will take a lot of exercises to evaluate the tool and also drill down on the expectations that individual people have with the tool. This exercise can prove futile if the application owners are unable to come up with a workaround on the requirements of the employees. If you look carefully at the requirements of the organization then we can safely say that Proofhub is an ideal choice not just in terms of the requirements but also in terms of the cost.
