Supply chain refers to the process of interconnecting all the key shareholders, resources, activities, and technologies that play an important role in the manufacturing and sale of goods, from delivery of raw material from supplier to the manufacturer, and finally to the end-users.

The five main functions of supply chain management are as follows.

  1. Aligning Flows
  2. Integrating function
  3. Coordinating processes
  4. Designing a complex system
  5. Managing resources

The two organizations that are using technology and digitization approach in their supply-chain strategies are as follows.

  1. Amazon services

Amazon services become the world’s largest retailer after overtaking Walmart. Amazon is an e-commerce company; hence they directly reach the customer’s door. Amazon’s online Big-Box strategy is the best example of the supply chain system. Amazon provides a platform where users can easily sell their products. Amazon uses innovative technologies and automation systems in their warehouses, which helps Amazon’s supply chain system to function smoothly.

  1. Tesla Motors

Tesla motors promote new firmware and algorithm approaches for the digital and technology-based supply chain. Tesla motors working over innovative technology and have a vertical integrated system for the supply chain system. Tesla motor is planning for a massive battery park to enhance their services.
