Aspartic Acid (D) and Glutamic Acid (E) should be prefered amino acids.

Aspartic acid and Glutamic acid are acidic amino acids (with pI 2.7 and 3.2 respectively) therefore, N terminals of these amino acids will work as nucleophile in the basic medium (@ pH 7.4) and will catalyze the Acid - Base hydrolysis.
