Price elasticity of demand (Ed) = Percentage change in quantity demanded/percentage change in price
Ed = -1.6
precentage change in price = 50%
precentage change in price = .50
(-1.6) = percentage change in quantity demanded/0.5
percentage change in quantity demanded = -1.6*.5
percentage change in quantity demanded = -.80
percentage change in price is -80%.
