Cycle time is the actual time taken to accomplish a task or process a step. Takt time is the speed at which the completed units must be produced to satisfy the demand. When the cycle time is greater than takt time, it would not be possible to produce the product as per the customer demand because each unit production takes more time while comparing to the time available to meet the demand. Hence you would not be able to meet your customer demand when your cycle times are greater than your takt time.
