Type I error: You are not pregnant, but the pregnancy test says that you are pregnant.  when the null hypothesis H0 is in fact true but has been rejected by the test

Type II error: A person is judged as guilty, but did not actually commit the crime. when the null hypothesis H0 is in fact untrue but has not been rejected by the test.

Type I error: Your experiment does not find a difference in plant growth under elevated CO2, but in reality, plants grow more under higher levels of CO2.
