Managers have to take effective decisions every day in their jobs and hence their job requires an immensely high level of planning. A manager can not do all the work by himself and hence it becomes necessary for every manager to delegate some of the tasks to their subordinates. A delegation is a managerial tool which allows the manager to delegate the tasks which are not important but are urgent. hence, for such tasks, a manager better uses her subordinates to do the task rather than wasting managers time in doing the task. instead of doing the delegated task, the manager can utilize that time for other important tasks.

Hence, Delegation is an important tool for managers and they use it often to delegate the tasks which are urgent but not so important. Following matrix explains the way in which it is done.
