Answer #1

According to Dominique Russel, the students who crossed the age 15 only are allowed to bring the mobile phones to the classroom i.e., keypad phone or smartphone etc. They should not use their smartphones during classes or in lunch break also. In France, the education minister proposed that the usage of mobile phones in schools should be controlled and parents must give some special time to their children. In this limited time only they are supposed to use mobile phones.

In Australia, some strict rules have been kept in the use regarding the usage of mobiles. The students in that particular area should follow the rules. But in some places, teachers only are encouraging the students to use their mobile phones for learning purpose or to solve simple math.

According to her, students are supposed to have a computer and an additional device i.e., mobile, tablet etc. If they want to use the mobile during classes they must use it for learning or studying purpose if they obey they will be punished severely. They must use them for seeing time reminders, alarms, to check the time table of the class etc.

According to McTier, students are supposed to use the mobile with the software which is provided by the university i.e., data logging software. It connects their devices to sensors to capture, measure, analyze and present their data for the scientific labs only. Students also supposed to use a large range of sensors in various chemical experiments to record pH values, temperature etc.

Finally, he said that it is all student's responsibility to manage his smartphone that it is charged or not and it is properly working or not. So that it is also the responsibility of that student that he may not use his mobile during classes even in lunch break also.

Some schools allow students to bring their smartphones to and from school. If it is college or university no one could stop them in using their mobiles. Because the parents are only not able to stop them from going towards mobile phones. They gave access to bring them to school. But they are expected not to use them throughout the day. The principal said that for educational purpose and for researching purpose and for lab experiments purpose they are supposed to bring them to and from school.

The acceptable use policies of both schools are very strict about the expectations of students in view of the privileges they have. There is usual monitoring of the electronic devices by higher officials. The ban on smartphones in France will be implemented across the whole country in September 2018.

In her opinion, the main cause of using the mobile phone is that the student not at all paying attention to the lecturer. The reason is that either the lecture is not good or the student is not at all interested in studies. Due to the lack of interest, the students are not able to use it for educational purpose but they are using it for all the other things except the studies. Every university provides some internet in the form of wifi to each and every student. The university thought that they use it for educational purposes. But the thing is that the students are using it for all the purposes. In some universities, based on this condition they won't provide access to all the websites. They provide the authentication and also the access for the sites which are useful for learning. If one university is thinking out of the box then the students in that university also 2 times faster than that of the university. So they use VPN's to access each and every small website.

In my opinion, the lecture of a professor must be very effective so that each and every student look exactly into their eyes. So that if he is doing anything else except listening then he automatically sent out. Yes, we are grown-up and it is the correct way of punishing who is using the mobile phone. In our childhood, the teachers send us out if we did anything wrong and we used to stand like that only until the class ends. Then we automatically go to the class at the end of the class. Even we are grown-up it is the correct way to reduce the usage of mobiles. Another thing is that every lecturer must interact with each and every student. So that each and every student must listen to the professor. Another thing is that the institution must give access to bring PC's or palmtops only with university provided software.
