In today's world popularity is something which is based on numbers. So taking the same tradition forward I would try to supplement my arguments with valid naumber .?

Movies.

In the country in which I live i.e India there is a increase in the films made on some historical character. And the fact is that these films are also doing great numbers at the box office. Some of the recent films like Bahubali, Manikarnika, Tanaji to name few did excellent numbers. The average footfall in theatre for these films were approx 30 million in India only. You can google it to verify.

Sports

In India cricket is a game which the entire country loves. The average attendance in a match of cricket is approx 50k.(That too because the capacity of most of the stadium is around 50k). Further the level of fan following and brand value these cricketers enjoys are too much. For example "SACHIN TENDULKAR" is a retired cricker who retired in 2013. Even after 7 years his brand value and his stature is increasing. It is said that When sachin used to bat, no one was seen on roads and streets . This was the stature of this man.

Food

In my country the demands for food like Pizza , Burgers are increasing day by day. This can be validated by seeing tje increase in the number of outlets. Earlier these outlets were only limited to tier-1 cities kike Mumbai, Delhi. But in last 5 years these grouos have expanded tbeir reach to tier-2 and 3 cities. My home town ie Begusarai( One of the district in the least developed state of India i.e BIHAR) which is not even a tier-3 city we find the presence of Dominos and all.
