• describe (briefly) the steps of process writing;
• present a persuasive argument to motivate the classmate to use steps in process writing in development of his/her written assignments throughout the semester;
• demonstrate your knowledge of process writing, your ability to craft a professional letter, and your skill at persuading a reader to action.

Subject: Introduction to Process Writing

The purpose of this email is to introduce you to the art of process writing. As you know, Process writing is an essential step when it comes to writing and forms an integral part of the courses of the schools teaching on improving writing skills.

Process writing can be referred to as a series of actions or steps one takes to form a written text which is coherent and interrelated to the theme of the text.

There are 5 steps in process writing which are as follows:

1. Prewriting - This step is the first step in process writing which actually takes place before one starts to write. In this step, a person tries to find ideas either through brainstorming or free writing, taking examples from past experiences, memories or from his surrounding environment. After finding his main idea, he/ she should concentrate on different ways to present the idea to the readers.

2. Writing - In this step, the first draft is written. No concentration should be given to the grammatical mistakes, word count or any other errors. the main focus is to write and let the words flow on the paper or on the keyboard of a computer.

3. Revision - In this step, after writing the draft, one should revise it and make it as best a possible. this can be done by adding new content if the word count is less or if the information provided is insufficient. rearrange the context if there is a break in the flow of the events. removing extra text which doesn't serve the purpose of the writing and replace any parts which are found to be unneeded to the central idea by taking help from fellow writers and readers.

4. Editing - Its time to edit the manuscript and get rid or correct the punctuation, grammar, and spelling mistakes. The main focus is to make the content as tight as possible without any room for error and it is best done by a professional.

5. Publishing - Your manuscript is now ready to publish and you have the option to choose from a host of publishers and the way in which you want your content to be published- whether in an online format like EPUB or PDF or in handbook formats like a paperback or a booklet.
