Answer #1

Let us take an example of benzene .

The atomic masses of C and H are 12 g/mol and 1 g/mol respectively.

The molar mass of benzene

Suppose we have a sample of benzene which contains molecules of benzene.

We can convert number of molecules into number of moles by using Avogadro's number.

Now we will use molar mass of benzene to convert number of moles into mass in grams

Density of benzene is 0.876 g/mL.

Now we will use density to convert mass of benzene into volume in mL

Now convert unit of volume from mL to L.

Now convert unit of volume from L to gallons

I am looking for help with the following question: In order to test whether students in a large State University have a certain genetic trait, an elaborate instrument has to be set up but the cost of testing additional subjects is not that expensive once the instrument is set up. From last year’s data, the proportion of students having that genetic trait was 0.28. To estimate this year’s proportion to within 0.02 by a 95% confidence interval, how many students...

I am looking for help with the following question: In a small community with 1600 households, we want to estimate the total daily water consumption during a specified dry spell. How many households should we sample if we want to estimate the total consumption with a margin of error of 2500 gallons with 90% confidence? We do not have pilot data but guess that the household daily consumption in that community ranges from 250 gallons to 380 gallons.

I am trying to understand the hybridization of NH3 and N2N-NH2 (hydrazine). They both have sp3 orbitals because they each have 4 regions of electron density: 3 bond pairs and 1 lone pair. In my studies, this should make a tetrahedral shape. Yet when I looked up these molecules, the correct answer is trigonal pyramidal for both of them. Can you please help me understand this?
