Answer #1

Answer:

Power Index shows the concentration of power in an organization or a society. A low power index signals that the power and authority is more evenly/democratically and fairly distributed among individuals or groups. For example the Open Door policy in many organizations where sub-ordinates are encouraged to feel free to have direct communication with the higher management. Or a free press in a country.
On the other hand, a High power distance signifies a less than democratic way an organisation or a society functions. For a US citizen, the high power distance score of a country is an important parameter for consideration before he/she decides to move there,
1. For a country, high power distance score means a less transparent way the government works and autocracy that may exist in its policymaking on day to basis.
2. A High Power index country is much more likely to be less answerable to its citizens and residents and decisions taken by the government might be based totally on the whim and fancies of a select few at the top of the authority.
3. Crony capitalism is more commonly seen in high power distance countries, hence its not a fair deal when an individual wants to start a business in such a country.
