Answer

Enthusiasm is the most overlooked attribute in any sales field opportunity. It is the most important factor which an employer seeks in a candidate who is interested in the sales position. Apart from experience, education and skills, an employer try to understand whether the candidate is able to drive sales with a positive attitude and motivation. Enthusiasm is a combination of interest, ability to fetch clients and drive sales, knowledge regarding the market and customers, and motivation achieving the goals with a positive attitude.

An employer can measure or determine if the candidate is enthusiastic, he needs to consider the achievements of the candidates in previous job, sales driven data, customer handling and his performance record if he can obtain it. Otherwise, the selected candidate who matches the job criteria can be put on a probation period to see how he works and whether he is enthusiastic or need improvement.

If an applicant lacks enthusiasm, but shows positive interest in sales, it is possible to enhance his ability and to moyivamo him to bring that enthusiastic energy. Training program and counseling can help to imcreinc the knowledge of sales, mentoring and supporting also helps in getting candidate understand the job and to get expertised in the field, and once he is confident with his abilities he will gain enthusiasm to do much better automatically. To keep up his enthusiasm and motivate continuosly, employer must recognise and reward the efforts and maintain the performance.
