using the equation of linear motion we have

v = u + gt

where v = final velocity

u = initial velocity

t = time , g = acceleration due to gravity

v = 0 + 9.8*3.2

= 31.36 m/s

so the speed of rock when it reaches the water is 31.36 m/s
