The greatest challenge that is facing human resource management function is to ensure work life balance for the employees. World is increasingly becoming small and timeline and getting blurred where in employees have to put in extra hours in order to ensure overlap between time zones across continents to ensure business continuity. One more issue arising and challenging this demand is the rising traffic on the roads. The congestion on the roads leads to more time being spent on the commute than with the family. With rising housing prices, employees are forced to take home away from the offices and that also adds to the already high commute hours which has direct impact on the work life balance.

Hence the biggest challenge which human resource department faces today is to how to provide right compensation and facilities to their employees and adequate working hours targets in order ensure correct and valid work life balance for the employees.
