Please help me understand how to start this lab. I do not understand the wording. Thank you so much! :)
Vinegar os mostly acetic acid. So, acetate buffere is going to be prepared. The buffer works best when acidic form and basic form are in equal proportions.
Therefore, [acetate] = [acetic acid]
This is gained when the titration is done half i.e., when the NaOH is added at a volume half of that is required for tge equivalence point. Because at the equivalence point all acetic acid molecules are converted to acetate. At half equivalence point acetate and acetic acid concentrations are the same. Taking 15 ml aliquote of the vinegar, firstly the equivalence point is measured and then it is calculated through proportion for 10 ml. Vinegar. A buffer solution takin half equivalence volume of NaOH is made for the 10 ml aliquote and tge 15 ml aliquote in the test tube. This is how the work is to start. Best. Hope it helps.

Create a buffer solution such that the pH=pKa, by adding half the amount of 1.00 M NaOH (prepared from the 6M NaOH provided in your kit) needed to reach the endpoint of 10 mL of vinegar. HELP!! How much do I mix together
Please help with the prelab questions! thank you!!!! Especially 2 and 3! Pre-Lab Questions 1. Calculate the theoretical equivalence point (the volume!) in terms of ml NaOH adde each of the titrations. Assume the concentration of acid is 0.81 M and the concentration of base is 0.51 M. 2. Which equation can be used to find the pH of a buffer? Calculate the pH of a buffer containing 0.20 M CH3COOH and 0.20 M CH3COONa. What is the pH after...
Hello, I will try this again I am trying to prepare a buffer from a solution of a weak acid. This is for part D. of Experiment 25 - Ph Measurements - buffers and their properties I am to be give an 0.50 M solution of weak acid with a given pKa, and I will preparre a buffer of a desired pH measurement (choose any pH) I must first dilute the acid solution to 0.10 M by adding 10 ml...
Please help, I'm so confused!!!! This is due wednesday night!!! i'm gonna fail :(((( pH of Buffer Solutions Procedure: Acetic Acid-Sodium Acetate Buffer (pKa acetic acid = 4.75) Weigh about 3.5 g of Na2C2H302 3H2O, record the exact mass, and add to a 250 ml beaker. Measure exactly 8.8 mL of 3.0 M acetic acid (use 10 mL grad cylinder) and add to the beaker containing the sodium acetate. • Measure exactly 55.6 mL of distilled water and add to...
A solid weak acid is weighed, dissolved in water and diluted to exactly 50.00 ml. 25.00 ml of the solution is taken out and is titrated to a neutral endpoint with 0.10 M NaOH. The titrated portion is then mixed with the remaining untitrated portion and the pH of the mixture is measured. Mass of acid weighed out (grams) 0.773 Volume of NaOH required to reach endpoint: (ml) 19.0 pH of the mixture Ihalf neutralized solution 3.54 Calculate the following...
A scientist is performing a titration of HClO in bleach samples (10.00 mL aliquot) with 0.0500 M NaOH. She does the initial titration with a pH meter, and it is found to take 32.1 mL of base to reach the endpoint, which shows a pH of 10.07. She now wants to prepare a buffered reference solution with the same pH and same ionic strength as the titration solution at the equivalence point (so the titration can be done routinely without the need...
I need it right now, please help me?? PROCEDURE PART I: DILUTING THE VINEGAR SOLUTION The vinegar solution must be diluted by a factor of 5 to be suitable for titration. 1. Obtain - 20 ml of the stock vinegar solution from the fume hood. 2. Using the 10-ml. pipet, pipet" 10 mL of the stock solution to a 50-ml volumetric flask. 3. Fill the volumetric flask to the calibration line with distilled water. Be sure not to go over...

HEPES is a commonly used biochemical buffer with a pKa 7.5 at 25 °C. Please answer the questions below on the use of HEPES as a buffer. Use the Henderson-Hasselbalch equation. a) What is the pH of a solution prepared by combining 100.0 mL of 0.50 M protonated HEPES with 50.0 mL of 0.20 M HEPES base and diluting to a final volume of 1.00 L? b) You add 20 mL of 1.0 M NaOH to the solution prepared in...
