(a) (CH3)3N(aq) + H2O(l) ========= (CH3)3NH+(aq) + OH-(aq)

H2O is an acid, since it is donating it's H+ to (CH3)3N(aq), whereas OH- will be the conjugate base and (CH3)3NH+ will be conjugate acid in this case

•Brønsted−Lowry acid : H2O

•Brønsted−Lowry base :(CH3)3N

•Conjugate acid :(CH3)3NH+

•Conjugate base :OH-

(b) HNO3(aq) + H2O(l) ========= NO3-(aq) + H3O+(aq)

H2O is an base, since it is accepting H+ from HNO3, whereas H3O+ will be the conjugate acid and NO3- will be conjugate base in this case

•Brønsted−Lowry acid : HNO3

•Brønsted−Lowry base : H2O

•Conjugate acid :H3O+

•Conjugate base : NO3-
