Discuss the global manifestations of religious fundamentalism in the 1980s. What did the fundamentalists have in common and how were they different
One of the most painful factors that tormented the world from 1980s till today is religious fundamentalism in which each religion wanted to ensure the supremacy of their religions. They also wanted to see more people joining their religion thus strove hard to maintain majority. The difference was that each religion took different strategies such as, Islam taking terrorism and infiltrating fear in the minds of people while Christianity took different tools such as preaching love, offering help to those who needed thus taking them in, creating new rules that promised the liberation of people from power and inequality etc. Some religions, just restricted any movement from their religion. However, almost all the religions are becoming a threat to the existence of human beings because thus far, religions have caused a great havoc, inequality and exploitation of people, material and power.
