There are tasks/activities that are required on a continuous basis. For example, risk management has to be a continuous process. Naturally this calls for agile methodology as it is an iterative process. On the other hand activities like validation or verification happens only once the product/process is merged. Hence it can done once. In such process/activities we can use waterfall model.
