(I can't upload powerpoint file here, so I'll tell you everything about BRICS.)

"BRICS" Which now contributes almost 30 per cent of the world's GDP, almost 50 per cent of the world's population has been coined by then chairman jim o'neill of goldman sachs. Back in days when India was just a piece of rusted iron and most of the Asian and South American countries where there were only a few barren lands in terms of technology and development, but to enormous astonishment it was predicted to surpass most Western economies by 2050.

In his early days as president on 2001 jim o'neill, hit by the devastating 9/11 terror attacks, he began to think about how other countries, particularly Asians, were beginning to feel the pressure of Western dominance. One fine day turned out to be global witch with the crystal ball being replaced by the world globe, predicting that these "BRAZIL, RUSSIA, INDIA AND CHINA" countries will reach a point where they would eclipse Western supremacy in terms of both strength and economy.

He came to the assumptions based on:

  • poor and developing economies
  • high population (was among the top 10 most populous countries).

He thought that all these 4 countries will pull them from rags to riches, owing to their rich natural resources and lust for growth. He claimed in his article that this acronym "BRIC" would create a new economic chapter, also predicting that these countries would overtake Western powers by 2050. Fascinated by his post, many MNCs that simply wanted to expand their wings to other regions began to take these countries as a choice. Biggies such as VODAFONE, BHP BILLITION, NISSAN, IKEA etc. have begun their expansions in these countries, especially in China. Yet there was even a lot of embarrassment with regard to these forecasts, many great economists assumed that this was a well-established fairy tale with some evil intentions of attracting investors and becoming richer using terms like globalization. Considering double-digit inflation and poor governance, many have argued that it is highly difficult for BRAZIL to upgrade to the expectations of a strong economy, and few have even commented that BRAZIL is named solely in order to obtain a fascinating name, and that the development of these countries is a superpower, an illusion.

In 2003, rivals HSBC & Duetsche bank began pouring tons, and now "BRIC" became a marketing agency. The stocks rose from 2% to 9%. Employability and economic statistics have started to rise because of industrialisation. Now he corrected his argument that by 2032 they would emerge as economic powers to prepare it by 20 years of nealy.

Such four countries were first meeting in Russia on 16 June 2009 in order to improve their economic ties.

  • India held its first meeting in the year 2012.
  • In 2010 SOUTH AFRICA was added to the alliance (because none of the African countries participated in this coalition of developing countries SA)
  • Now contributes to almost half of the world population and 30% of world GDP
  • Opened its own bank called NEW DEVELOPMENT BANK(NDB) based in China, branch is being opened in SA to look after African affairs
  • Recently 8th BRICS conference was held in GOA(INDIA).

PRESENT COUNTRY WISE STATUS:

BRAZIL :

The nation, once considered one of the fastest-growing economies, returned to its past glory, soaring all over the air into the desert.

Now its GDP growth has plummeted to-3.2%, sky rocketing inflation (currently 10.47%), unemployment rates have risen to almost 12%.

If that is the case for years to come, it can lead to huge economic problems, ultimately leading to recession.

REASONS FOR THIS FALLDOWN:

Poor governance:

Dilma Rousseff, who was then BRAZIL's president, is regarded as the direct cause of this falling economy.

HER POLICIES:

  • She spent heavily making the fiscal deficit jump from 2 percent of GDP to nearly 10 percent in 2015 during her tenure in 2011–14.
  • She spent heavily on pension policies, and it rose to a position where your salary would certainly be equal to your pension.
  • She exempted many sectors from tax, making the situations worse, now the sky of the public deficit rocked to lower tax returns with extravagant spending.
  • Corruption and limitation of international markets limited creativity and decreased the high-yielding companies in exchange.
  • Poor foreign policies, it put no emphasis on maintaining good foreign policies, reducing spending & regions from 80 to nearly 18–20 countries in 2015 for both bilateral and unilateral ties.

RUSSIA:

  • RUSSIA faced huge crests and troughs in the economy after the cold war and the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991.
  • Although it has very strong foreign policies and abusive natural resources, it has not been able to get enough highly skilled labor and accurate policies to restore its past glory. A nation that once kept a huge economy, large army is now facing a strong decline in economic growth.
  • Good policies could carry the country back to preserve the past as the great nation.

INDIA:

"Power will go to the hands of rascals, rogues, freebooters; all low-caliber Indian leaders and straw men. They're going to have cute tongues and dumb heads. We will fight for power among themselves and India will lose out in political quarrels. A day would come when India would have taxed only air and water.' These were Winston Churchill's final words concerning India. His words clearly indicate that none of them believed in the future of India in this region. Our start was dominated merely by hunger screams & rage crimes. We were bearly left with any food to even let our kids eat, being robbed by the Britishers. The nation that once had the largest and oldest cultures now opens its hands to get some help out. The country that originated from economic policies, military strategies, and good governance (arthasastra written by chanakya) is now borrowing ways to lead its own people out of the scar called poverty.

Thanks to the Gandhis who made the poverty scar more painful by their endless scams, limiting FDI's and setting up internal clashes.

  • Worlds ' fastest growing economy
  • 3rd interms of GDP PPP and 6 th in terms of nominal GDP.
  • We now have the worlds second largest army, the fourth most powerful army in the world.
  • We are now the world's second largest food producer, accounting for almost 10.01 percent of world food production.
  • With its successful mars mission and recent record of launching 104 satellites into space, we now have one of the largest space agency ISRO, proving its power.
  • We provide for UN peacekeeping missions with the highest number of active personnel.

There are many kinds of great achievements in the period of 20 years that we have accomplished. The jouney that we had in everything from being nothing to people is really spellbound. It's really inspiring how we rise from rags to riches.

CHINA:

China's narrative is analogous to that Indian. Each possessed once great empires and societies. China, which is a growing chunk of land, has a multitude of resources.

  • It is a major food and development exporter.
  • It has a very skilled workforce and also a very large army.
  • It has thumping GDP statistics
  • Economic growth is nearly 6.5 percent

INDIA & CHINA are in the way of moving Western dominance to the North.

SOUTH AFRICA:

  • This is the youthful BRIC country, making BRICs BRICS. On 2010 SA joined BRIC.
  • Along with Nigeria, South Africa has been the fastest developing nation in Africa.
  • It has been added to BRIC since no African nation has participated in the 5th BRICS Summit of the fastest growing economy list SA has conducted.
  • While once one of the world's fast-growing economies, its economy is gradually fracturing.
  • It now has double-digit inflation and unemployment to an unprecedented 26% level.

REASONS:

  • Completely corrupt politicians, with Jacob Zuma as its president being a very good example. The country has seen numerous amounts of scam rapes.
  • War against white peasants- After being hit by inflation and rising rates of unemployment, Blacks in the country began "BLACKS FIRST POLICY" they began to destroy the white peasants who owned and occupied a property. They have come to a sense that in this case, it is the only way to survive.
  • With the worst measures, the public debt rose to almost half of their GDP.

Just like BRAZIL poor governance, the economic growth is totally disrupted. Let's hope elections in 2019 would atleast bring any government change or atleast its policies.

Please convert it to ppt. Hope you will be able to do it. Please comment in case of any other help.

Good Luck and God Bless :)

Carlsberg in Emerging Markets A breeze of optimism blew through the office of Carlsberg A/S’s CEO, Jørgen Buhl Rasmussen. After finally gaining 100 percent control over the giant Russian brewery Baltic Beverages Holding (BBH), and with the investments in Western China beginning to bear fruit, the newly appointed CEO was confident that the Danish brewing company’s intensified focus on emerging markets would pay off. The company was counting on tapping the massive potential in emerging markets in order to achieve...
