Answer #1

Neurological assessments are important tools for understanding the various cognitive abilities of individuals. It helps to assess cognitive functions as language, memory, attention and visuo-spatial abilities. They help to find out the impairments with respect to various cognitive abilities of the brain. Thus, they aid in prognosis, diagnosis and treatment of various cognitive malfunctions or disorders.

Most of the tests and batteries of neurological assessments are based on the norms and data formulated or studied on the dominant European or the white-race. Neurological assessments on ethinic minorities are less available. This lack of cross-cultural neurological assessments is not helpful for assessing the individuals from minority community. The informations from the individuals from minority communities could be used for acculturation of them into the dominant culture.
