1) Neurological impairment or deficit is a disorder of nervous system. It applies to any condition that is caused by dysfunction in a part of brain or nervous system, resulting in physical and psychological symptoms.

All neurological disorders involve brain ,spinal cord ,nerves.Symptoms depend on where damage occurs. Areas that control movement,communication, vision, hearing or thinking may be affected. Also physical ,cognitive, emotional and behavioral symptoms may be present.Alsobthere may be partial or complete paralysis, muscle weakness, loss of sensation, seizures, difficulty reading and writing, poor cognitive abilities, decreased alertness, slurred speech etc are problems faced by person with neurological disorders.

2) Sensory disability is neurological disorder where brain have difficulty processing sensory information such as sight, hearing, taste, touch and smell. A person may have full or partial loss of senses in impaired condition. It affects a person as to how he gath information from world around them.

• Blindness in which person is considered blind if they cannot see at a distance which a normal person can see.Some may have low vision where their permanent viso loss affect daily activities and cannot be corrected by glasses.Hearing loss or deafness is partial or total inability to hear .
• Sensory processing dis where person have trouble receiving and responding to information that comes in through senses.They misinterpret everyday sensory information such as sound, movement, touch.ie they are able to sense information but brain perceive and analyze it in unusual way.They may be oversensitive to things in environment. Eg common sound may be painful for them.
• Sensory based motor disorders is a problem with stabilizing, moving or planning a movement in response to sensory demands.ie deficit in balance, gross motor and fine motor coordination impairment .Also some have sensory discrimination problem where it affects sensing similarities and differences between senses.

3) Speech problem may not completely indicate they are unable to speak.It may be due to problems with way sounds are formed,ie articulation or phonological problems

Some have speech disorder due to impaired hearing or physical impairment like cleft lip or cleft palate.Speech and language therapy is not due to complete brain impairment it may be due to difficulty remembering words or due to quality of voice.Also in some it is due to brain working differently.

Also extreme environment deprivation can cause speech delay.

This disorders doesn't mean person is not capable of Independent living.Their intelligence and other factors may be normal.

4) Empowerment is about inclusion in local issues and services that affect persons.It is about not being forgotten and brushed away. It is imp to help them develop self awareness, self care and promote understanding that patient can be equal partners in health decisions.This helps patients to derive maximum benefit.It can be done by providing them with durable, sophisticated scientifically manufactured standard aids that can promote their physical, social and psychological rehabilitation by reducing impact of disability and enhancing economic potential.

Effects of Empowerment of person with support needs are

• such people will be able to lead a near to normal life and they too can come in to front sector of society and build their own carrier .
• their mental health will also be better as they are not avoided or feeling low due to their disability.
