Service-oriented architectures (SOA) provide object-oriented architectures for web platforms that represent a collection of services. Answer #1

Service Oriented Architecture spans both the application architecture domains. The benefit potential offered by the SOA can only be truly realized when applied across many solution environments. Due to the composable nature of SOA which means individual application-level architecture can be comprised of the different technologies and extensions and it is absolutely possible for the organization. Contemporary SOA builds upon the SOA model by leveraging technology and industry to further its original ideals. Though the implementation technology can vary, SOA helps in increasing the quality of service. Moreover, it also promotes loose coupling throughout the enterprise. The ability for the task to be performed in a secure manner, protecting the contents of the message as well as the access to individual services.

Difference between SOA Vs CLIENT-SERVER approach:

  • Application Logic: The client-server architecture has fat client that are working through data-related to logic and bulk whereas in SOA choices are more about application logic can possibly live and how it should be shared.
  • Technology: While client-server architecture makes the most of 4GL programming as well as 3GL programming languages for performance causes, SOA makes uses the XML data representation arch coupled with the SOAP message framework.
  • The maintenance cost of client-architecture is higher whereas SOA is immune to user-side maintenance needs.

SOA limitation:

  • Connectivity: Most of the distributed architectures that do not work over wide-area, intermittent networks.
  • The interaction between objects are often rich as well as complex.
