Solution:

Diameter = 80 x 10^-6 m => radius = 40 x 10^-6 m

Young's modulus = stress/strain

=> Y = (FL/ALc)

Here;

Lc :change in length

L : initial length

hence;

Y = (0.025 x 9.81) x0.1 / pi x (40 x 10^-6)^2 x 0.0007

=> Y = 6.97 x 10^9 Pa   

=> Y = 6.97 Gpa or 7 Gpa (approx.)
