For the above mentioned statement the option which describes the best for session 2 is as follows:

a. session 2 can get a shared lock, but it cannot get an exclusive lock on the resource

Because an exclusive lock prevent any other session/user from reading the locked resources whereas in a shared lock it allows the other users to even read the locked resources but any modification cannot be done.
