Answer #1

Answer:

The diameter of the penny = 19.05 mm

                                     = 19.05 x 10-3 m

The atomic radius cesium atom = 0.267 nm

Therefore diameter of one cesium atom = 2 x 0.267 = 0.534 nm

                                                                          = 0.534 x 10-9 m

number of cesium atom that can be placed end to end along the diameter of the penny

= [diamter of the penny] / [diameter of one cesium atom]

                                                              = 19.05 x 10-3 m / 0.534 x 10-9 m

                                                             = 35.674157 x 106 atoms.

                                                             = 3,56,74,157 atoms.
