The synthesis of lipids is called as lipogenesis. The end products of glucose are first converted into fatty acids and then esterified with compounds such as glycerol to form triacylglycerol.

These compounds called as triacylaglycerols are then packaged in the form of VLDL which are then secreted from the liver and hence can be stored.
