Answer #1

a. XeO2 is a chain structure, in which xenon and oxygen have coordination numbers of four and two respectively. The oxidation of Xe in this molecule is +4. The geometry is bent, sp3. While XeO3 (+6 oxidation state) geometry is trigonal pyramidal, sp3.

b. ICL3 is sp3d (trigonal bipyramidal) hybridized and ICL5 is sp3d2 (square pyramidal) hybridized.
