Answer #1
the magnitude of horizontal and vertical components can beexpressed byy=x= it just so happens that the cosine and sine of 45 degrees isthe same thing... makes sense since the slope is one of a 45 degreeangle....you can check your answer by using pythag theorem and you willget √x2+y2 to equal 100

Answer #2
the horizontal component = 100 * cos(45)= 70.7 units
the vertical
component = 100 *sin(45) = 70.7 units
