9. Based upon your calculations of slope, do you think that Mt. St. Helens and Hawaii are d in Table 1, in your own to vourye of magma/lava composition helped to form Mt. St. Helens and composed of the same material? Using the information provide elens before and after the 1980 eruption. ow much elevation (as a maximum relief value) was lost in the 1980 eruption? Based upon the topographic map, do you think the eruption went straight up or did it explode laterally (to the side)? If it exploded laterally, to which direction did it erupt? Answer #1

Answer 09: on the basis of slope we can predict the composition of the both hills i.e Mt St Helens and Hawaii. The slope of the Mt St Helens steep that's indicate about stratovolcano which is composed by felsic magma (having high to intermediate level of silica) eg dacite, andesite rhyolite etc.

And on the basis of slope of Hawaii hills that's gentle slope so it's indicate about sheild volcano which is composed of somewhat basic composition magma (having intermediate to low level of silica) which is less viscous and can flow a long distance from eruption source. Eg. Basalt, gabbro etc.
