Yes, i agree with the view that small businesses are more vulnerable to employee theft because they lack the systems to detect the signs of theft.
Their are many reasons behind employee theft in small
businesses. Small businesses does not conduct annual financial
audits which is their in large businesses. The businesses which
conduct financial audits have less chances of employee theft.
Small businesses have lack of internal control which is a major
reason of employee theft in business. They are not able to detect
the frauds which is happening in the business.
Moreover, small businesses have less employees and they have high
level of trust on them and the employees misuse it and it result in
theft.
