Do you agree that employees tend to undervalue or take their employee benefits for granted and why or why not? From your readings and your experience, how might an employer effectively increase the perceived value employees place on their employee benefits package?

I do not agree with the statement, because employee benefits come with the stated terms and conditions and are only delivered when employees meet certain criteria. So, one employee getting some benefits and another employee not getting it create value of the employee benefits and give due importance to it. Besides, employee benefits are planned on the basis of employment level and employee needs. It makes employees to value these benefits what is delivered to them by the organization.

Employer can increase the perceived value, by carefully linking the employee benefits package to the employees so that employees start working to achieve the benefits. Further, there should be different packages and it should be linked with the performance level.  A good performance leads to higher packages. So, employees will give more importance to employees benefits packages offered by the employers.
