Compartment 1 contains 150 mL of solution containing 0.02 mol Na+, 0.02 mol K+, and 0.05 mol Cl-. Compartment 2 contains 200 mL of solution containing 0.02 mol Na+, 0.01 mol Ca2+, and 0.01 mol PO43-. In which direction will Na+ diffuse? Explain your answer. (3 points)

The Na + ion will diffuse from Compartment 2 to Compartment 1, because in Compartment 2 there is more volume of solution that makes more Na + ions exist than in Compartment 1, and causing the balance to be in that direction .
