The painting turn-table system shown in the following figure has a DC motor, two limit switches, a pneumatic cylinder, a start button and two spray guns. The paint guns are activated by 24 V DC voltage. The motor turns the table only in one direction Red Spray gun Blue spray gun Limit switch trigger Box in the operator side Box in the spray gun side Limit switch 1 Limit switch 2 Cylinder Motor
The following is the desired operation: -The operator places a box on the left hand side of the table. The operator pushes the push button to start the system. The motor turns the table and brings the box under the paint guns. This is sensed by one of the limit switches. Motor stops and the cylinder brakes the table. -If the limit switch 1 is active then the red spray gun should paint. If the limit switch 2 is active then the blue spray gun should paint
Painting starts 2 seconds after the motor stop and takes 30 seconds. During the painting process, the operator removes any painted boxes from the left hand side of the table, and places there a new, unpainted one. When painting is over, he/she pushes the push button again. Thereafter the brake is released. 1 sec after the brake release, the motor turns again to carry the painted box to the operator side (left hand side in the figures). This is again sensed by one of the limit switches. The painting on the right hand side and the feeding of new boxes from the left hand side continues that way.
You may need to use timers and counters. Info on the down counter and extended pulse timer are provided below You may use other S5 timers/counters too. Example Example C10 T 5 SPEXTİ Q40 CCD Q 4.0 CD S5TIMERS-TV Bl 0.1 BCD CV 0.3 R CV_BCD If the signal state of input 10.0 changes from "O" to "1* (positive edge in RLO), the timer T5 will be started. The timer will continue to run for the specified time of two seconds (2 s) without being affected by a negative02 changes from "0* to "1". the counter is preset with the value of MW10. Itf edge at input S. If the signal state of 100 changes from "O" to "1" before the timer has expired the timer will be re-triggered. The output Q4.0 is logic "1" as long as the timer is running the signal state of 10.0 changes from "" to "1*, the value of counter C10 will be decremented by one-unless the value of C10 is equal to "D" Q4.0 is 1 if C10 is not equal to zero
