2.) Use the graphs described above to determine the number of moles of strong acid that
must be added to 25 mL of the buffer to the change the pH of the solution by one pH
unit. For each buffer, calculate an average number of moles of strong acid that must be
added to 25 mL of the buffer to change the pH of the solution by one pH unit.

3.) Explain the relationship between the average moles of strong acid that must be added to
change the pH of 25 mL of each buffer by one pH unit and the [base]/[acid] ratio for the
buffer. (What happens to the average number of moles of strong acid that must be added
when the [base]/[acid] ratio decreases? Why does the average number of moles of strong
acid change as it does?)
