Total Calcium ion concentration is equal to carbonate ion concentration plus calcium ion concentration from calcium chloride. Since cabonate ion generates bicarbonate and carbonic acid, total calcium ion concentration equals to sum of carbonate, bicarbonate, carbonic acid and calcium ions from calcium chloride in mass balance equation.
