Answer #1

Key:

P: Dominant pointed ears allele

p: Recessive rounded ears allele

- Pointed ears is the dominant allele since two homozygous recessive parents can't have a child with the dominant trait.

- Both the parents are heterozygous. That is the only way they can have a homozygous recessive (rounded) child.

Cross for the second child is: Pp × Pp

P p
P PP Pp
p Pp pp

Due to complete dominance, a single P allele is enough to give the pointed ears trait.

The phenotypic ratio is 3:1.

Where 3/4th offspring are pointed and 1/4th offspring are rounded.

Hence the answer is 75%.
