Explain how Nkx2.1 is expressed only on the ventral side of the endodermal tube to specify the lung primordial.
Morphoregulatory transcriptional factors such as NKX2.1 have the crucial role of connecting the cell–cell crosstalk to the activation or repression of gene expression through which processes such as cellular proliferation, migration, differentiation and apoptosis can be controlled. Although none of the factors participating in lung development are exclusively lung-specific, their unique combinations and interactions constitute the basis for emergence of lung structural and functional specificities.
An understanding of the individual molecules and their unique interactions in the context of lung development is necessary for the construction of a morphogenetic map for this vital organ as well as for the development of rational and innovative approaches to congenital and induced lung disease.

Discuss how the dorsal-ventral axis is established in amphibian or fish embryos. You should include in your answer the names of the most important molecules. Feel free to discuss manipulations such as knockouts that have provided evidence.
Developmental Biology! Please answer all the questions 7) Mislocalization of oscar to the side of the oocyte near the nurse cells A would relocalize PKA B Would not affect microtubes or embryo polarity C could destabilize the microtubule structures leading to mutant polarity D would not affect bicoid as it is already anchored to the membrane at this point 8) Convergent Extension A describes migration of cells in an "upward extending motion" B none of these answers C all of...
State two methods to visualize where a gene is expressed in an embryo and describe how they work with drawing. This method uses a whole embryo (or sections) as a specimen. Do not use any reporter genes. Subject: Developmental Biology

How is the anterior-posterior axis of neuroectoderm specified in amphibians or fish (pick one)? What key molecules are involved? Feel free to discuss manipulations such as knockouts that have provided evidence. Note that this is referring to the neuroectoderm, not the entire A-P axis of the organism.
explain how the organizer is specificed according to figure A above
B. (3 points) Explain how the organizer is specified according to the figure in Part A above and the figure below. Your answer should include the role of B-catenin and the paracrine (Xnr) signal from the Nieuwkoop center. man TGF-family Owner Chuda, Nagin DEVELOPMENTAL BIOLOGY Answer questions A through C about specification of cell fates in amphibians.
