1. Insight therapy is a way whereby therapists attempt to make realise the patients/ clients to comprehend the beliefs, happenings, experiences, actions and feelings in their past life which are having a considerable impact on the present life.

Behaviour therapy is a term used for different types. Here, the behaviours of the clients are analysed, most of which are destructive and these are attempted to change and cultivate into constructive behaviours.

Both the theories intend to separately identify the negative/ destructive behaviours of the clients.

The low self esteem is elevated to higher one in both the theories.

The two theories eventually improve the relationships and turn the client into a more social individual.

Behaviour therapy is more directive whereas the insight therapy is comparatively less directive.

2. Freud's psychoanalytic theory is more deterministic in nature while Roger's client centred theory is humanistic in nature.

Freud thinks that the drives at the unconscious level are to be turned to conscious level whereas Roger focuses on the elevation of the self- actualisation.

According to Freud, there has to be a balance among id, ego, superego. And for Roger, reconnection with the personal value system is more significant.

3. In freud's psychotherapy, the therapist may intentionally avoid to talk with the client and emphasise on the observational attribute of the mechanism.

Behavioural modification makes efforts to change/ alter/ improve the routine same response into a better and newer ones.

Duration of CBT and DBT varies in bothe the cases. The insurance marketers cover the cost related to behaviour modification in a fine manner but it is not covered satisfactorily in pschotherapy.

4. Roger's therapy is more a counselling approach. More openness in relation with experience is sought after. To express the equality between therapist and client, Roger intentionally eliminated the word"Patient".

"Cognitive behaviour restructuring changes behaviours". This is the backbone of behaviour modification. Aversion therapy, positive and negative reinforcement, punishment, extinction are the ways of behaviour modification.
