are:
1. Management information Systems,
2. Decision Support Systems,
3. Transaction Processing system.
Management
Information Systems:
It is a collection of all software, hardware and also people which
will work together to store the information and produce the
results.
Functions:
(i)It is will collect the data from the various resources, it will
analyze that information based it will provide the summary of the
report which will help in decision making.
(ii)It will help them to keep track of all day to day
operations.
(iii)It will be used to record all the business transaction for an
organization.
(iv)It will be useful in integrating the information flow with the
functional areas.
(v) It records the all type of information that is necessary.
Issues:
(i)It will be time consuming when you want to record all the
information manually.
(ii)If file or information is lost, it is lost there will be no
back ups.
Decision
Support Systems:
It will help for management to take the decisions.
Functions:
(i)It will take input as the information to provide the decisions
based on the data.
(ii) It will have data analysis system where it will analyze the
data to provide you the report.
(iii) The input to Decision Support System is the Management
Information System output.
Issues:
(i)Too much of Information which will leave the user to the dilemma
stage what to consider and what not.
(ii)Too much cost will be required for the implementation of
Decision Support Systems.
Transaction
Processing Systems:
The programs/Systems which will support the transaction process are
called Transaction Processing Systems.
Functions:
(i)It will perform the input, output, storing and processing
functions.
(ii)It will involve in the manipulation of data which includes
computation.
(iii)It will provide you the detail reports, summary and also the
exception reports.
Issues:
(i)Any Hardware malfunction will damage the so many
customers.
