Answer #1

An example of a job is to pack the freshly baked cookies in a box of 2 lbs capacity. The work is divided into following four elements with rating factor listed against each one.

1. Picking up the empty box - ( rating 110%)

2. Weigh the cookies - ( rating 115%)

3. Putting the cookies into the box ( rating 95%)

4. Sealing it with paper seal - ( rating 120%)

If T1, T2, T3 and T4 are the time values, the normal time (NT) is

1.1T1+ 1.15T2 +0.95T3 + 1.2T4

The fatigue allowance as decided by the management is 10%.It is the extra time given for overcoming the physical fatigue caused as a result of continuous nature of physical work, as well as mental fatigue caused by noise, distraction and working in closed spaces.

Standard time = Normal time / 1- Allowance

= Normal time /1-0.1
